New Adventure for Monika.
Our lovely Monika has moved to QLD. She had been contemplating the move for a while and finally took the plunge with her hubby Geoff and packed up the Mitsubishi Lancer and did the move to the  sunny state about 4 weeks ago.
We miss her but don't feel too sorry for her just yet. I received a photo text message from her the other day saying "Guess where I am"? She had found the Versace Hotel and was having a Cappuccino in their coffee lounge sitting in front of a wall of gorgeous pink (real) orchids. Well I'm sure we won't hear the end of this adventure just yet!

New Member of the Team
If you haven't already heard we have a lovely new therapist joining the team at Beautyluscious. So many of you know her already, Her name is Gabby Braid who has grown up with the beauty industry.
She is so familiar with everything pertaining to beauty, that I think she was born holding a waxing spatula in one hand and tweezers in the other!! Gabby comes with a wealth of information, especially in the cosmeseutical area of deeper professional peeling treatments and will be bringing along a New Skin Care Range, Skinstitut. It's for serious skin results.
So I will handing over the reins of Beautyluscious to Gabby and know you will just love her and all she has to offer. Gabby wanted to assure all our wonderful clients that business will be just as usual, all our Sothys products and facials will remain the same, the girls and of course the great Specials.
I just wanted to say a Huge, Big Thank you to all our WONDERFUL Clients who have supported us over our three and a half years, watched us grow and were so very patient as we tried new treatments, products, an array of spray tan colours and allowed us to pamper them, and become a small part of their life. So I will be signing off for now but am sure I will no doubt catch up with you, probably down the street or in Bilo!!

How to Receive a Free Tint for Your Brows!

A. I enjoy doing a variety of treatments each day. I find facials and massage as relaxing for me as the clients: and I like the instant results of waxing and tinting.
Q. If you were on a desert island and allowed only 2 products what would they be?
A. Cleanser and Moisturiser with SPF
Q. What trick could you share with our Beautyluscious Clients?
A. Keep on waxing through winter. That way by the time summer comes you are well on your way to slowing the hair growth down and it is finer and won't need doing quite so often.
Q. If there is one treatment in the salon that you could recommend or talk your clients into trying what would it be?

Our question from so many of our clients this month is,
What Wax Where and will it Hurt?
There are two kinds of wax that we use in the salon. And for you, the client, may mean a lot or very little. There is strip wax and hot wax.
Strip wax is commonly used on legs and arms, applied with a spatula and then removed with a cloth or fabric strip taking the hair along with it.
Then there is hot wax. A little different but commonly used on the more sensitive areas such as the face, underarms and bikini line.
We prep the area first with a cleansing agent and then use a pre-wax oil. Normally you never have oil applied to the skin before waxing, but by applying the pre-wax oil it allows the wax to stick to your hair but not to your skin. It is also applied quite thickly. We apply it as you might apply icing to a cake. Then when slightly set we loosen an edge away and then pull the wax quickly off.
Why use hot wax? Why not use strip all over? 
Well in the end the preference for what wax we use is yours, the clients. Some of our clients use strip wax for every kind of hair removal as they prefer it. Others will only have hot wax as for them it's all about the end result and their pain threshold. We do recommend hot wax for facial waxing as it can be a slightly less painful experience and has less pull against the skin, avoiding that tugging feeling. This can also help reduce sensitivity especially the skin around the brow area.
If you're not sure, always ask us at the salon. We can always do a patch test for you.
Our hot and strip wax is from Lycon, one of the biggest and longest existing wax manufacturers in Australia. It's called "So Berry Delicious" and smells a little like strawberries.
But in the end it's all about you and what you feel the most comfortable with, hot or strip. Our goal is to remove your unwanted hair, do it as pain free as possible, with the best results so we can keep you looking your smoothest.
Just a little Housekeeping.
We know at times it can be difficult to keep appointments but ask that if possible you could allow us at least 12hours notice of any cancellation of your pre booked treatment. We really want to keep you looking your super duper best and will rearrange any appointment as best as possible to suit.
We have late night Thursdays till 7pm and Saturdays available from 8.30am to 12noon.
